Ricky D. A. Roshell

Ricky D. A. Roshell played in the all star sax section of 2013 and 2014. He then returned as a college intern when he was home for the summer of 2016. Ricky is completing his undergraduate degree in Instrumental Music Education/Oboe Performance at Baylor University. Throughout his time in the MPYO program, Ricky developed a better sense of section playing, improved his improvisation skills, and met some life-long friends along the way. Ricky is currently a member of the 2017 Disneyland All-American College Band!

Educate students

MPR expectations are high because students are accepted only through a competitive audition process, or by teacher referral. Auditions are open without regard to race, religion (creed), gender, national origin, disability or sexual orientation.

Entertain the community

Students are provided opportunities to perform publicly, and in guest artist events which are affordable or free, and in venues accessible to all.

Enrich the local arts scene

Big Band jazz is an American art form threatened with extinction if it is not proactively preserved. MPR programs pass the love for this art form to the next generation.
