If you are interested in the MPYO, then we are interested in you!
The Metro Praise Youth Orchestra is staffed by this area’s most gifted musicians – handpicked, based on competitive audition or referral from top private teachers and band directors. Home schoolers are encouraged to audition.
Auditions are open to all students without regard to race, religion (creed), gender or sexual identity. Students are vetted based solely on musical qualification. All students are All Region Band alumni, and for the past several years about a third of them have been All Staters. MPYO is not a substitute for individual study. MPYO members study with top private instructors.
We meet when school is out – Summer, Christmas holidays and Spring Break.
Tuition varies based on the number of meetings per session. Each meeting is about the cost of a 30-minute private lesson. With a grant from the Arts Council Northeast, and special project grants from the Fort Worth Arts Council — MPYO costs less than most other camps or activities.
With gigs at Six Flags and NRH2O, recording sessions, guest artist visits and master classes with local pros – our youth activities are probably the best value going!
