The Keller Jazz Orchestra is available year-round

Fees are negotiable depending on the event. Costs are higher for Saturday evenings, or parties during the Christmas holidays; (and much higher for New Years Eve and Valentines Day). They may be a little less for Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon engagements.

The KJO is our big band, but we have smaller groups for all occasions and budgets. Ask about our “little big band” and Dixieland groups. Members of the Keller Jazz Orchestra are local pros, so we can configure ensembles to meet any need. (Harp and herald trumpet is ideal for a wedding!)

Community service events and festivals?

Big band fees are negotiable for community events that are free and open to the public. Standard professional rates apply for ticketed events and private parties.

Educate students

MPR expectations are high because students are accepted only through a competitive audition process, or by teacher referral. Auditions are open without regard to race, religion (creed), gender, national origin, disability or sexual orientation.

Entertain the community

Students are provided opportunities to perform publicly, and in guest artist events which are affordable or free, and in venues accessible to all.

Enrich the local arts scene

Big Band jazz is an American art form threatened with extinction if it is not proactively preserved. MPR programs pass the love for this art form to the next generation.
