GySgt Ken Ebo, conductor and jazz trombonist with the USMC All Star Jazz Band will perform with KAYJO & friends, as well as with the professional Keller Jazz Orchestra on Sunday, July 23. Downbeat is at 6 p.m. The performance is at Harvest Church, 7200 Denton Hwy in Watauga.

SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE TOO!

Admission is free, but concert-goers are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Lone Star Santa’s Toy Drive. Toys collected by Lone Star Santa’s will then be delivered to the children of tornado-ravaged east Texas.

Educate students

MPR expectations are high because students are accepted only through a competitive audition process, or by teacher referral. Auditions are open without regard to race, religion (creed), gender, national origin, disability or sexual orientation.

Entertain the community

Students are provided opportunities to perform publicly, and in guest artist events which are affordable or free, and in venues accessible to all.

Enrich the local arts scene

Big Band jazz is an American art form threatened with extinction if it is not proactively preserved. MPR programs pass the love for this art form to the next generation.
