DJ Rice

DJ Rice played in our youth ensembles for two years. During high school he was frequently featured as a soloist with the MPYO and with his own band at Rowlett High School. He was also a member of the 2014 All State Band. Since starting Jazz Studies at UNT he has made a mark, playing all over the world — classical and jazz. DJ has performed with and arranged for world class musicians such as John Fedchock, Jim Pugh, and Michael Dease. During the 2016-2017 school year he recorded with the UNT 2 and 3 O’clock Lab Bands, and UNT’s Latin Jazz ensemble. DJ has interned with KAYJO, and has served on other jazz camp faculties. He is available to teach lessons in DFW, as well as through Skype. djrice36@gmail.com
